Tova is a contemporary artist based in Calgary, Alberta. Her work features bright, melodic hues set against minimalist backgrounds, often incorporating the raw texture of natural canvas or wood.

Tova's artistic journey has spanned various mediums, including digital art, collage, watercolour, and portraiture, but she has found her current artistic home in abstract landscapes. Her work resonates with vibrant energy and emanates the joy of creation—the process of bringing something beautiful into existence has always been a driving force for her.

A graduate of the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking, Tova initially pursued a career in marketing. However, her passion for art called her back to the studio in 2020, when she founded Tova Shan Art + Illustration.

What began as a personal journey of self-discovery and re-exploration of her artistic identity quickly evolved. Today, she paints from her home in Calgary, Alberta, creating works that touch on the delicate balance between nature's boldness and tranquility.
